before even having a chance to simply take a few steps back (like .500 teams would) they fall through the ice and nearly freeze to death. Am I right?
The losing would be easier to take if it was mixed in with winning. Let's say that during a span six series, we win three of them 2-1 and lose three of them 1-2. At the end of the span we find ourselves sitting at 9-9. Painful? Yes. But even that modest request seems like a pipe dream.
In June, the Royals have played a total of six series.
June 2-4 @ Tampa Bay: 0-3
June 5-7 @ Toronto: 1-2
June 9-11 @ Cleveland: 1-2
June 12-14 vs. Cincinnati: 3-0
June 16-18 vs. Arizona: 1-2
June 19-21 vs. St. Louis: 0-3
June Overall Record: 6-12
June Series Record: 1-5
Since Going 18-11: 11-28
The team is failing. It's hard to watch most nights, especially when Luis Hernandez is batting 2nd (or when Jacobs and Olivo bat consecutively). We'll be lucky to win 10 games this month. I think I'll still check the box scores but for my health and the well-being of my possessions, I'll stop watching for now.
How about those Tigers, huh?

I still haven't gone to a game this season. I plan on catching one, but I'll make darn sure Greinke is pitching. I wonder how much of an attendance boost they get on games he starts.
